Metal Central Divine Ascension and Circadian Pulse

I can honestly say that Divine Ascension are the best Australian band going right now. They improve every time I see them and it's hard to believe they haven't released an album yet.

If it isn't obvious that I'm a fan Metal Central 2 would be the second time in a fortnight that I'd be seeing Divine Ascension. With Soundwave being on the same day and most metalheads I there, this was the first gig for a while without the usual gang. Still it didn't take long to find some familiar faces when I arrived and there was a reasonably decent crowd given that it was in competition with Iron Maiden.

Circadian Pulse a band completely unknown to me opened the night. Stunning, outstanding, whatever positive words you can think of summed them up. I thought they were similar to Queensryche, others said Fates Warning and while I'm unfamiliar with them you get the idea of how they sound. They should be a force in the years to come. Amazingly during their set the singer mentioned they were looking for a drummer and keyboardist. If I were them I'd be begging the guy they had to stay on drums, forget about keyboards and concentrate on recording and playing. With Cell last month and now Circadian Pulse the future looks bright.

A dedicated few rocked up after Soundwave, which I thought demonstrated unbelievable loyalty. I then heard some say they'd left Iron Maiden early, a sacrilege in my opinion.

Divine Ascension delivered another flawless performance. I've heard the songs a number of times but it doesn't matter as I don't tire of them. After some encouragement I ended up right at the front, which was awesome. There will come a time when this won't be possible so I was grateful for the opportunity.

Metal Central, 2 for 2!
